To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. Elliott Erwitt
Water Hemlock is a commonly overlooked plant in the UK. In the right setting and from the right point of view it can become much more than an unsightly weed.
I photographed this plant on Constitution Hill in Aberystwyth, Wales.
Climbing the hill with my dog I found myself looking for things to photograph in new ways and to push my creativity to the next level. The head of the Hemlock stood out alone from the surrounding shrubbery and being in full bloom it presented an opportunity too good to miss. Additionally the backdrop of the beautiful Welsh coastline added much more to the picture than I could have hoped for.
